Rhinestones are embedded in the panel "like flies" in a constellation around the poet's face. The artist stuck the seal of Menelik II, Negus of Ethiopia, in the lower right corner of the table and excerpts from the letter written to Rimbaud, highlighted with flashes of rhinestones. This major work is coming from the artist's collection, Lise Deharme collection, was acquired by the Lise Deharme Sale (Friday 6th March 1953, Hôtel Drouot, Maître Maurice Rheims) then private collection.
